May is Invasive Species Action Month in BC

This May, we're asking you to TAKE ACTION on Invasive Species and make a difference!

You can help prevent the introduction and spread of harmful invasive species in our communities. There are many ways to take action against invasive species—at home, in the garden, at work, on vacation and with your pets and aquariums. May has been officially proclaimed Invasive Species Action Month in BC, and each week during the month, ISCBC is profiling a key invasive species issue and highlighting the actions we all can take to prevent their spread:

Week 1: Invasive AnimalsDon't Let it Loose; focus on pet & aquarium trade
Week 2: Invasive Plants - PlantWise & Grow me Instead; focus on gardeners
Week 3: Outdoor RecreationPlayCleanGo; focus on the great outdoors
Week 4: Aquatics - Clean, Drain, Dry; focus on water enthusiasts

Check out each week’s theme and resources: information sheets, a special “Species-a-Day” profile, a new youth activity resource, and other resources highlighting the weekly theme. Check out these issues and some FREE resources here.

See a helpful Media Toolkit to help groups get the word out, including templates for press releases and media alerts – check it out here.
